SUMMARY

Global Technical Service. LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a Cloud Engineer in support of the Air Force Logistics Command.  This Cloud Engineer will support Agile Vision Logistics (AVLog) to deliver value across an enterprise portfolio.

We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter and a change agent with experience and desire to drive organizations to be successful on cutting-edge Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry). You will be asked to provide guidance across data, compute, storage, network, virtualization, containerization and Security and help transform the organizations to take advantage of DevSecOps, CI/CD and agile methodologies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical / Leadership Qualifications

Architecture experience with a proven track-record in implementing large scale cloud environments

Hands on experience in cloud computing-based services architecture, technical design and implementations, including IaaS and PaaS

Knowledge of Cloud cost optimization techniques

Experience in one or more automation languages (CLI, Python, Ruby, PowerShell)

Knowledge of Direct Connect, Private Link, VPN and other Public Cloud connectivity solutions

Thorough understanding of infrastructure automation, CI/CD, networking, storage and cloud-based delivery models

Knowledge in networking and web standards such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, HTTP, web security & firewalls

Experience in autoscaling, load balancing and DR cloud computing models

Experience in SSO/Federation

Working knowledge of configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet & Ansible)

Thorough understanding of Cloud native, vendor agnostic & cloud ready app development

Thorough understanding on Cloud Governance

Knowledge in cloud monitoring tools, application performance monitoring tools and operational dashboarding

Experience using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative technical solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems, driving data-driven decisions

Evaluate the analytics from the cloud environment to make recommendations for improvements and optimization

Demonstrates clarity of thought and expression to win confidence of senior leaders and team members

Can explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Education / Experience / Certifications

Minimum of 5 years of technical infrastructure and/or systems engineering experience

Minimum 7 years of experience in all aspects of cloud computing (compute, storage, platforms, data and security)

A Bachelors college degree is required; A Masters is preferable

Must be US Citizen​

NACI or SECRET security clearance preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
