SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE:

The FlashBlade team at Pure is seeking an Automation engineer for System Integration Testing. The mission: to build and maintain an evolving suite of automated tests that qualify “Scale, Stress, and Load” before System Testing. You will be working with Developers, System Test engineers, and Product Managers to bring optimal test coverage to this area.

With the FlashBlade product, we are building a scale-out all-flash file and object store, designed for the modern world. To really understand how our customers work with data, we are deeply immersed in AI, modern backup, log analytics with Splunk and Elastic, data pipeline with Kafka, cluster computing with Spark, and many more use cases.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE:

10 years of software development experience, preferably in Python

Proficiency in software testing fundamentals and test automation - preferably within an enterprise storage product environment (either on-premise or cloud) where Distributed Systems architecture is a key component.

Comfortable using git to check-in and Jenkins to run developed automation tests. Code reviews are second nature. Quality focused mindset for automation (coding to test the test code - unit tests, etc.)

Highly skilled at using Infrastructure as Code tools (such as: Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc) and integrating them into automation suites in a VMware infrastructure. Have used such tools to deploy an end to end test ecosystem.

Strong experience in Kubernetes and Containers with ability to leverage and assess such environments to reduce overall footprint of infrastructure needs compared to strictly using VMs, or thick test clients. Have an efficiency mindset.

Experience in development and testing of RESTful web services and backend APIs

Experience with object (S3), file (NFS/SMB) storage and networking protocols. Have worked with and automated synthetic IO/workload tools like fio, HCIbench, IOZone, and Load Dynamics, etc.

Experience in any number of related system software projects e.g: Operating systems, Linux Kernel, Database internals,

Hypervisors, Containers, Compiler Optimization, etc.

Have worked within Agile, Test-Driven Development, and Continuous Integration organizations.

Stellar communication and collaboration skills

Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams to gather data to help with future automation project roadmaps.

A BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
