Job Summary

We are currently in search of a dedicated Junior Software Engineer to join our observability team. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for working on metric collection and storage using VictoriaMetrics, an open-source time-series' database, and monitoring system that provides high performance and scalability.

You will be responsible for ensuring that our metric collection and storage systems are reliable and efficient and that our clients receive the data they need in a timely and accurate manner.

Core Responsibilities:

Deploy, maintain, and scale VictoriaMetrics on Kubernetes in AWS and Comcast cloud platforms.

Develop and maintain Python scripts and tools to automate processes and support metric collection.

Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable delivery of software updates.

Provide expert-level Linux system administration support and troubleshooting.

Participate in on-call rotations every 3-4 weeks to maintain the reliability and performance of our systems.

Apply Grafana to build and maintain visually appealing and informative dashboards for monitoring and analysis.

Collaborate effectively with team members, customers, and stakeholders to address questions, troubleshoot issues, and provide recommendations.

Continuously improve processes, tools, and documentation to enhance team efficiency and product quality.

Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our systems remain cutting-edge.

Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Bring:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

2 years of experience in DevOps, Systems Engineering, or a related field.

Proficient in Python and experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies.

Experience working with the Linux operating system.

Experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, Comcast cloud platform).

Familiarity with VictoriaMetrics and Grafana for metric collection, storage, and visualization.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

Customer-focused mindset, with a willingness to assist customers and provide exceptional service.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
