Job Description:

The energy transition requires the development of new business opportunities for Shell, together with the development of new technologies and equipment-based solutions. An important part of this strategy is the assessment and development of concepts and technologies to electrify current and future assets across industrial sectors. Electrification is one of the key enablers to achieve deep industrial carbonization, next to other technologies such as CCS, biomass or H2. If you are a highly motivated technical expert in the field of electrification and renewable power solutions who is committed to contribute to this vision of Shell then this role is an opportunity for you to realize this ambition.

Where do you fit in?

In the VP ship of Power you are going to be part of the GM-ship of Electrification that will aspire to promote and support the use of renewable electrical power to replace fossil based energy in industrial processes. You will be reporting to the Team Lead Electrification Products. The GM-ship includes a wide range of experts over the different areas of electrification from renewable generation to the various uses of renewable power to decarbonise industrial processes. The Electrification Products Team has a strong focus on electro-thermal (e.g. Power to Heat) product-based solutions, along with a growing focus on electro-chemical and electro-mechanical applications.

What is the role?

Manage component and system level testing activities in the development and demonstration of product-based solutions and supporting technologies for industrial electrification applications.

More specifically, the role requires that you:

Maintain a knowledge of current and emerging testing technologies for electro-thermal, electro-chemical and electro-mechanical applications in industrial electrification.

Identify test needs in technology and product programs and translate to implementation plans.

Manage the design, build and operation of component and system test units for development and demonstration purposes.

Form and lead project-based teams from Shell’s technology centers, operational sites and external parties to perform test and demonstration activities.

Integral member of ‘agile’ product development teams; responsible for conducting rapid testing as part of rapid design-test development methodology.

Design and implementation of instrumentation and data handling systems for component, demonstration and, where necessary, field equipment.

Work seamlessly with the Electrification Integration and other complementary teams working to deliver End-to-End (E2E) electrical power-based solutions for the energy transition.

Apply Shell’s procedures for development, testing and project execution to deliver the targeted outcomes with a continuous focus on safety and risk management.

Support the screening, selection, qualification, integration and management of suppliers and partners throughout the development and RoE life cycle.

Drive HSSE excellence always for personnel, operations and in the inherent design of the product-based solutions.
