We are looking for an Associate Digital Engineer II to join Best Buy's Enterprise Data Platform engineering team. This team is responsible for delivering the platform and tooling that supports reporting, analysis, and machine learning initiatives throughout Best Buy. Engineers on the Enterprise Data Platform team build machine learning platform that helps Data scientists to train models with various training methods and deploy them to model serving environments.

This is a hands-on engineer position. The individual in this role will be involved throughout the development lifecycle for the Enterprise Data Platform with the primary responsibility of developing Machine learning platform tools and services that will be used by other internal teams within Best Buy to build and deploy machine learning models that power personalization across Best Buy.

The individual in this role will be given the opportunity to deliver solutions in a highly distributed, highly critical environment by leveraging state of art Machine learning tools and big data technologies.

Responsibilities: Responsible for application development and maintenance for delivering business value online. Follows the software development lifecycle phases from concept and design to testing and deployment

Using current programming language and technologies to build machine learning platform tools.

Writes system test scripts and fixes software defects when required

Performs overall testing and debugging of applications

Troubleshoots system defects

Completes basic documentation needed to support applications from the development phase to the maintenance phase

Creates deployment automation and run books for production support.

Required Qualifications: 2 years related experience

6 months programming in Python

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledgeable of two or more of the following specifications HTML, XML, SQL, CSS and REST Web

Experience using Java

Experience with building scalable Data engineering applications

Experience with cloud-native technologies including Containers, Container Orchestration Systems, or Service Meshes.

Experience with Google Cloud BigQuery or any other NoSQL database technologies

Experience with Google Cloud Pub/Sub or any other messaging systems

Experience with Google Cloud Dataflow or any other stream processing systems

Experience in an Agile environment.

Experience with JIRA or any other issue tracking technology
