A typical day as a 

Software Development Engineer in Test II might include:

Plan and develop applications and modifications for testing of systems in order to improve technical performance

Work closely with project manager/test lead and project team to learn about the project functionalities

Write unit/integration tests for both front end web apps and the API/services

Analyze sophisticated software systems and develop automated test solutions

Contribute to overall quality assurance best practice, strategy and methodology

Develop test strategies, create test plans and execute test cases both manually and via automation

Work closely with project management to define acceptance criteria

Create training materials for development team and lead workshops for technical test design for products

Coach and mentor developers in testing best practices and code reviews

Evaluate test tools to improve test process and quality

Validate that project adheres to technical specifications and well accepted standards

Ensure conformity to style guides and standards (directory structures, file naming conventions, etc.)

Log defects, maintain test data and monitor test performance over time

Design, develop and execute automated, semi-automated and manual unit test cases including both black box and white box test cases

Manage releases and collaborate with other team members to ensure releases go smooth

Develop, write and maintain test automation scripts where applicable

Oversee processes for automation scripts where applicable

Oversee processes for identifying, tracking and reporting the results of test procedures

Develop in-house automation framework/tools and/or bring in open source tools and technologies to solve automation problems

Create, maintain and validate test cases for automation test framework (mocha and cucumber) for both US testing and API testing using Selenium, JavaScript, NodeJS

Write and test code for backend restful API services using JavaScript, GIT, Docker, Kubernetes and Jenkins.

What You Have:

Requires Bachelor's Degree or its foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or related

Requires 5 years of post-Baccalaureate progressive experience as Software Development Engineer in Test, Technology Analyst, Quality Assurance Engineer, Programmer Analyst Engineer or related field.
