Description
The Actuarial Community Development Center (ACDC) is a small team working in the Office of the Chief Actuary (Finance) dedicated to supporting the career development and engagement of the actuarial community. The actuarial community consists of over 500 actuaries and business professionals that span the enterprise working in numerous departments. The ACDC works to unite those areas through community hiring, shared guiding principles, hierarchical governance teams, engagement, and networking opportunities. The ACDC also supports the community through college recruiting and internship programs, the rotation program, coaching opportunities, and community events.
Responsibilities
Humana is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer 2 to support the Actuarial Community. In this role, you will be working in the Office of the Chief Actuary, collecting, analyzing and reporting data related to the career progression of the community members. In addition, this role will be responsible for developing and maintaining tools for community leaders. This role is unique in that in addition to traditional business intelligence activities, you will be a member of the team that plans engagement activities like summits, summer events, newsletters, SharePoint, social media, etc. There is also an opportunity to innovate exploring new ideas, products, learning experiences that would benefit the community.
Responsibilities:
Maintain databases containing information from several sources
Regularly update content on SharePoint
Produce monthly and quarterly reports and metrics
Ad hoc reporting
Regular surveying and reporting results
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The ability to self-start and work independently
Enthusiasm for pioneering simplicity and process improvement
A passion for learning emerging technologies
A willingness to learn and teach new tools in a consultant capacity
Superb organization skills
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Less than 5 years of data analysis experience
1 or more years of experience in SQL, SAS or other data systems
Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau and/or other data visualization tools
Experience with SharePoint design
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
Expertise in assessing complex data sets and performing root cause analysis
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Power Platforms
In-depth experience in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivots, charts, graphs, etc.
Ability to use data to drive business outcomes and decisions
