In this position you will have the opportunity to optimize user reporting and analytical experiences with data driven approaches to drive design simplicity, design experience, content delivery, and influence content insights. Repointing to the Director of Medicaid Business Intelligence, you will have the opportunity to influence analytical solutions, drive new reporting and analytical experiences for Medicaid leaders, and shape governance processes

Responsibilities

The Data Visualization Engineer 1 may work with stakeholders to perform data analytics and write software. Assists in the development of our cloud based analytics platform. Builds interactive visualizations and front end software applications for stakeholder engagement. Can perform analytics based on stakeholder needs. Understands own work area professional concepts/standards, regulations, strategies and operating standards. Makes decisions regarding own work approach/priorities, and follows direction. Work is managed and often guided by precedent and/or documented procedures/regulations/professional standards with some interpretation.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering and/or related field

Less than 3 years of professional experience performing data analytics and building user interfaces, visualizations, and data algorithms

Experience taking complex data and making it more accessible, understandable and usable for leaders to derive insights

Clear oral and written communication skills

Flexible, dynamic personality who works well in a team environment and can lead a team

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering and/or related field

Healthcare or managed care experience

Experience with data extraction and analysis technologies such as SAS, SPSS, QlikView, Hadoop, SQL or similar tools

Experience with reporting and creating metrics

Understands data mining, predictive modeling techniques and using data to drive business outcomes and decisions

Additional Information

Understands/ has beginner experience with:

Wireframing concepts and tools

Persona development to influence report design

Data and reporting governance

Strategy development supporting business areas/ market

Work-At-Home Requirements

WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
