PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:

This job contributes to success of the Juno Manufacturing Plant (JuMP) by helping to lead the adoption and implementation of a standard continuous improvement approach in a CAR-T cell Therapy GMP environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities

Assists in driving the development and implementation of a standard continuous improvement program.

Serves as an important continuous improvement advisor to the organization, including maintaining a collaborative working relationship with leaders and providing expert guidance in the understanding and deployment of continuous improvement principles and tools in the organization.

Assists in developing and promoting an organic continuous improvement capability over time, including embedding standard work and visual management in day-to-day processes.

Responsible for the delivery of high impact, complex improvement projects of significant size and scope for a CAR-T manufacturing and quality organizations.

Strengthens continuous improvement competencies by supporting the design of training curricula, facilitating trainings and workshops, coaching, and providing constructive feedback to project teams.

Acts as a facilitator of change for complex, cross-functional initiatives.

Actively participates in the continuous improvement community of practice.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent

Experience:

Required Experience

2 years of experience in cGMP CAR-T cell therapy manufacturing.

Experience leading continuous improvement projects on the manufacturing floor such as eliminating defects, improving cycle time, and root cause analysis.

Ability to work independently to meet objectives and perform with a high degree of accuracy.

Source of imaginative, thorough, and innovative solutions to a wide range of difficult problems on the production floor.

Exhibits leadership behaviors including collaborating for results and developing/executing strategy. Can lead through influence and change manage projects at the production floor level.

Creates an environment that encourages continuous improvement, best practices and appropriate risk taking.

Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.

Expert in Microsoft Office programs.

Written and verbal communication skills are critical – Must be articulate and able to communicate with and influence employees at all levels across the organization. Must also be able to write technical documents that will be presented to agencies.

Preferred Experience

Knowledge of cGMP regulations and FDA guidance applicable to biologics and cell therapy manufacturing.

Six Sigma Black certification or equivalent credentials in Lean

Process improvement background with an ability to understand work flow/throughput through a facility.

Experience in lean, operational excellence, six sigma, or continuous improvement, and process mapping.

Demonstrated experience delivering continuous improvement training programs, including providing content appropriate to different organizational roles and tailored to the specific environment.

Proven experience in project management, facilitation, and change management.

Proficient in analyzing data to make fact-based decisions and develop long-range vision with progressive business plans.
