This job is for the Vito Waterflood project team, which is part of the overall Brownfield Projects Group in the Gulf of Mexico. This job offers the opportunity to grow and develop technical and project management skills in an area that is critical to current and future Deepwater developments, as well as being transferable outside of Deepwater. There is significant accountability for meeting overall design and operability objectives.
This position will report to the Vito Waterflood Project Manager as part of the Gulf of Mexico (GoM) Deepwater Projects organization. The selected candidate for this position will serve as a Subsea Project Engineer, to provide subsea technical support with a project delivery mindset, focused on delivery of best-in-class subsea systems.
The Gulf of Mexico (GoM) Deepwater Projects organization executes Deepwater subsea projects throughout the Americas. On an industry wide basis, this group is recognized as a leader in Deepwater subsea systems, having installed Deepwater subsea projects since 1994 and actively working on over a dozen at this time.
Staff in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM) Deepwater Projects organization have the following general responsibilities:
Utilize Shell standard work processes (Performance agreements, HSSE management process, Management of Change process, etc.).
Interface coordination with other project and discipline engineers.
Coordinating the use of external/contract resources to support the engineering activities.
Solicitation and evaluation of Operations input.
Development and maintenance of applicable drawings and engineering design documents.
Shared accountability for cost, schedule, safety, and reliability with the other project team members.
What’s the role –
The successful applicant will support the execution of the project in concert with Subsea Lead and the Project Manager spanning the project life cycle from Define Phase to Commissioning and Startup.
The job scope may include:
Apply effective HSSE management of risk, provide leadership in HSSE and ensure process safety in design. Incorporate HSSE and regulatory requirements into operability plans and system design.
Provide systems view for all subsea technical scope and integrate subsystem work packages into a composite system that meets the design intent.
Manage subsea requirements in the project Basis for Design and Subsea Field Layout
Collaborate across disciplines, and manage subsea technical interfaces with Subsurface/Wells/Topsides/Operations
Coordinate development of subsea commissioning procedures and provide design input to operating guidelines
Execute project work processes including Opportunity Realization Process, Management of Change, HSSE Management Systems, Technical Assurance Frameworks, etc.
What we need from you -
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
·Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. With five plus (5 ) years’ subsea engineering experience
Strong HSSE commitment and demonstrated process safety leadership skills.
Soft skills
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work within multi-disciplined/multi-cultural teams.
Ability to manage multiple, often conflicting cross-discipline priorities while maintaining delivery focus.
Clear communications skills (written and verbal) to synthesize and communicate technical recommendations.
