PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
The Associate Director of Data Analytics is responsible for the technical leadership and oversight of the Manufacturing Sciences and Technology Data Analytics team supporting commercial drug substance, API and drug product for the BMS internal and external manufacturing network. This position reports to the Senior Director of Process Analytics & Engineering, Manufacturing Sciences and Technology, within Bristol-Myers Squibb's Global Product Development and Supply.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In collaboration with Information Technologies and Business Insights and Analytics, responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the process data analytics strategy for MS&T, including the selection and deployment of scientific and analysis software tools based on a thorough understanding of user requirements and business context.
Drives development of advanced manufacturing analytics and controls, integrating process science, engineering principles, and data analytics, into models and tools that support improvements in manufacturing outcomes.
Provides data analytics SME support for complex data analysis requests, such as critical investigations or yield improvement initiatives.
Collaborates with global and site functions, within and outside MS&T, to identify areas of opportunity for leveraging the GPS datalake and other IT infrastructure to realize business benefits.
Leads and facilitates the definition and implementation of knowledge management strategies for the MS&T community.

Requires a BSc, MS or PhD in Engineering (or other relevant discipline) with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Data Analytics supporting biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
The preferred candidate will have solid experience in a cGMP-regulated environment, preferably gained through direct support of commercial operations.
Knowledge of ICH and world-wide Health Authority guidelines, a thorough knowledge of data analytical tools, and sound understanding of data validation and biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
Experience in modeling and simulation highly desirable.
Outstanding problem-solving skills.
Ability to engage and motivate teams, outstanding ability to communicate and build collaborations.
Experience leading and managing groups of PhD/MS/BS data scientists and engineers, and cross-functional project teams. CONTACTS: The Associate Director of Data Analytics, MS&T, is in direct contact with senior leaders across the BMS network, including heads of MS&T, IT, BI&A, Quality, Process Engineering, and Manufacturing. Occasional interactions occur with external industry and regulatory representatives. WORKING CONDITIONS: Principal assignment is in a modern office facility; supporting the global BMS manufacturing network. Up to 20% travel may be required to support this network role. DECISION MAKING: Exercise sound judgment in making decisions and recommendations within generally defined practices and policies, and notify senior management when necessary. Defines global data analytics strategy across the manufacturing network. Works on abstract problems across functional areas of the business. Identifies and resolves fundamental issues for major functional areas. Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of division operations.
