Description

Lead Software Engineers on the Engineering Platform Innovation team code, coach teammates, communicate both inside and outside of the team, and collaborate across Humana IT to drive an engineer-first mindset.

We're dedicated to building a world-class experience for Humana's engineering teams. As a lead engineer with EPI, you'll be:

Coding

(plenty of hands-on-keyboard time),

Coaching

other teammates to help them grow their skills,

Communicating

, both inside and outside of the team, and

Collaborating

with leadership and other subject-matter experts to design systems that streamline and simplify software delivery, delighting the engineers that use those systems.

From a tech-stack perspective, most of our current systems are written in Go and Python, though we do have one extremely high-impact system written in .NET. We use managed Kubernetes as a deployment target for everything we possibly can, and we really like asynchronous methods of integration and loose coupling.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

8 or more years of progressive IT experience as a senior developer in large IT projects

2 or more years of project leadership experience

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree
