Position Overview
We make real what matters. This is your role.
Siemens is seeking a SME with deep knowledge of the Windows based operating systems and underlying hardware that it relies on. You’ll love jumping in and solving problems. Specifically, support, tackle and provide resolutions for all networking and server issues such as crashing Windows Services, Security permissions, networking and connectivity incidents, firewalls, etc. Additionally, you will help us improve and optimize our processes demonstrating your “ethical hacking” approach to identify challenges and develop solutions. We will place the responsibility of a Windows Active Directory network with over 150 users in your hands. Lastly, we need the person in this role to think quick and act fast to redeploy a computer and get it up and running on our network through either manual auto-deployment processes sed within Siemens. Along the way you’ll have opportunities to further develop your skills in areas like AWS Cloud Services, understanding of pipeline automation and maintenance and develop an understanding of source code repositories (JazzSCM, Git, Gitlab)! Maintain full responsibility over the suite of Windows networking services at Siemens
Be a learner: Quick learning and adaptation is a must as new technologies arise.
Have a “helping’ approach – You will handle onboarding and offboarding activities for new and exiting employees. These responsibilities my include:
Basic PC Administration
Installation
Configuration and set-up
Solve problems
Memory & Hardware upgrades
What we need from you.
Proficiency in Windows Administration (ie. Microsoft operating systems, workstations and servers)
Partner with business leaders for IT strategy and represent the needs of the business in conjunction with Global IT management
Proficient knowledge and experience interacting with IT/ R&D staff to understand, research and resolve server and network issues
Basic knowledge of IT infrastructure
Experience working with 3rd party IT suppliers
1-5 years of Windows and Network Administration and troubleshooting experience
Up to 5% travel
