Job Description:

Position Purpose

What’s the role –

The PACO Transformation Engineer is a member of the Process Automation Control & Optimization (PACO) Team within the Technology Department. This role will provide Instrumentation & Process Control support to the site Transformation organization (TMO) supporting Blue Sky, Digitalization, and Innovation efforts. The role will functionally report to PACO.

Responsibilities include:

PACO lead for Transformation efforts.

The Transformation Instrument Engineer will need to blend fundamental instrumentation and process control technical skills with an innovative mindset to achieve the site’s transformation and automation goals by working with a multi-disciplinary team.

Assist in identifying and implementing new instrumentation and automation efforts with a primary focus on wireless instrumentation but also potentially including base layer control, sequential control, and procedural automation.

Provide PACO guidance in development of change management process for TMO efforts.

Support PACO in the implementation of Transformation efforts.

Dimensions:

No formal direct reports.

Work closely with multi-disciplinary Transformation team.

Some base PACO work with a focus on Instrumentation as role will functionally report to PACO.

Skills & Requirements

What we need from you –

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.

Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical engineering degree required.

At least five (5) years in discipline (support to manufacturing operations and/or project implementation preferred)

Demonstrated experience with wireless instrumentation required including IOT/LoRaWAN, Wireless HART, and associated systems architecture.

Experience with sequential control and procedural automation preferred.

Interest in data analytics and predictive maintenance.

Honeywell Experion experience strongly preferred.

Experience specifying new and troubleshooting existing PLCs preferred

Awareness of site policies around Process Control Domain Integrity (PCD-I).

Good knowledge of safe work practices and engineering obligations in an industrial environment including change management (MOC) work processes and procedures.

Awareness of safety reviews (PHA, HEMP) and industry standards (ISA, OSHA)

Ability to develop strong working relationships and collaborate successfully with others, particularly Production Module Control System Engineers (CSEs) and Instrument Inspectors, will be crucial to the success of TMO Big Bets.

Ability to influence without formal authority.
