is seeking a change leader with a diverse background to join our thriving, creative, and energetic Agile & Product Practices movement. Our company has shown it can pivot, iterate, and respond to change, and we’re looking for additional Agilists to help us continue to imagine what’s possible as we enrich lives through technology.
As an Agile Coach
on our Agile and Product Practices team, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement by coaching product teams in context, helping people inspect, adapt, and arc toward self-organization and self-direction. WHO YOU ARE...
Mentally resilient, self-aware, and self-motivated, you partner with your teams and leaders to create and implement improvement experiments. You use self-awareness and coaching acumen to know when to be pedantic and when to be pragmatic.
Customer obsessed, with a broad and ever-growing toolbox of Agile and Product practices to bring the customer to the heart of all you and your teams do.
Confident, positive, and optimistic to put forward new ideas and, when necessary, challenge status quo. You are able to take motivation from constraints, challenge, and change.
Highly Communicative, verbally, visually, and in writing. You partner with others to tell stories of change and growth to inspire and motivate.
Flexible and dependable, teams and peers recognize you can get a lot done.
Able to make strong relationships that support the growth of individuals, teams, and the entire company.
Motivated by serving individuals, teams and organizations be the best possible version of themselves while delivering value in highly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous times.
WHAT YOU’LL DO AT BEST BUY...
Create environments for the agile mindset informed by meaningful and empirical observation. This means visualizing and radiating information, encouraging transparency, and working with your teams to find and use measures that inform continuous improvement and the health of a product team. You will help your teams to gain insight, using only metrics that matter and drive change. Measures may reflect a variety of things, from how a team knows if they are “winning,” to how their customers are succeeding, to how probes were created, and experiments run.
Facilitate Agile gatherings and support transparency for product teams, including but not limited to creating and modifying working agreements, daily stand-ups, story refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives, purpose-driven visualizations, and stakeholder demonstration. You’ll be a neutral party between disciplines, helping knit engineering, product, CX/UX, and others together while honoring perspective in psychologically safe settings.
Partner deeply with teams and leaders to identify and focus on resolving impediments at the local, and at times, global level. You’ll support teams in meeting their commitments through proactive planning, risk mitigation, communication, dependency management and priority alignment.
Collaborate closely with other coaches. Our Agilists aren’t only former scrum masters, but practitioners from a wide variety of disciplines, including software development, service design, UX, consulting, management, and beyond. We pair, learn, support, and grow together.
Train and mentor others by identifying and crafting learning experiences where you see they’re needed. Coach Product teams around how best to leverage Agile tools (e.g., standards, best practices, consistent flows, etc.) in support of effective team practices.
Lead in a visible way and influence without authority, demonstrating Best Buy’s Values and Way We Lead behaviors. You will mentor and train new team members and will strive to be actively engaged in coaching connects and forums with your peer group to drive changes and positive outcomes to advance Agile and Product Practices at Best Buy.
