The University of Cincinnati Facilities Management Department continuously works to maintain a high level of comfort, sustainability, and an innovative presence throughout the University and is currently seeking an Energy and Commissioning Facilities Engineer. The focus of the position is to maintain the control system to provide comfort and indoor air quality for our staff, faculty and students while minimizing utility consumption. In addition, they are to provide direct technical support to exempt and/or non-exempt staff and contractors on control systems.
This position will work under general supervision and be responsible for control system designs, installs, operations, maintenance and upgrades. This includes maintenance and upgrades of distributed control panels and servers for Siemens, Automated Logic, and Phoenix’s control systems. Responsibilities may also include design reviews for control systems on new construction and renovation projects.

*Manages all building automation systems designs, installations, operations, maintenance and upgrades campus wide. *Execute system programming, create program flow charts, logic diagrams, controls narrative documents, etc. *Provide technical support, direction and guidance to end users and other trades personnel. *Provide PC/Workstation support for hardware and systems software. *Evaluate cost effective modes of operation. *Direct the work of HVAC staff in the implementation of projects. *Performs point-to-point system checkouts and participates in new and renovated system startups. *Reads, understands and interprets technical and construction related documents (drawings, technical manuals and specifications) in order to determine appropriate equipment and materials required and proper methods of repair or installation *Responds to campus emergencies, both during the day and after hours, as needed. *Identify energy savings opportunities and make recommendations to achieve more energy efficient operation. *May provide direct supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e. hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). *Perform other duties as assigned.

*Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of experience – OR- Associate’s degree and five (5) years of experience – OR – a minimum of seven (7) years of experience. *Degree and experience must be in a related field. *Energy Efficiency Certification is required.
