The Arbitration Engine team, part of the Comcast Applied AI & Discovery group, is building a best-in-class advertisement and engagement decisioning engine platform, which serves the right for the customer balance between advertisements and engagement content, while ensuring advertisement-based revenue without affecting customer satisfaction. The service supports all TV platforms globally, which means its high volume, low-latency traffic for millions of users across the globe. Senior Software Engineer on the Arbitration Engine team will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of multiple services backing the Arbitration engine platform. A hands-on programmer, a mentor for early-career programmers, a software architect, a technical leader, and a technology enthusiast are all qualities we look for in a Senior Software Engineer. You will be building the service and designing the decisioning engine that makes the service so impactful, striking a balance between advertisements and engagement and driving customer satisfaction while keeping up promotional content will be responsibility. It's an exciting opportunity for owning and driving a project and creating a positive impact on millions of users across the globe. You will be building this service and the components to support this service, collecting clicks and impressions, driving the feedback model for this service to make better decisions in the future. You'll be part of the software development cycle, writing software, testing it, performance testing it, deploying your own software to production serving millions of users across the globe, and following industry best practices in all phases of software development, DevOps, and CI/CD. In addition to that, you'll also be architecting and building the ML model, training the model, and integrating the model-based decisioning in the critical path of the service.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Analyze requirements, design, develop and unit test code.

Design software architecture for multiple services.

Design ML model training pipelines and integration into API based services.

Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.

Work in a collaborative manner within the team as well as external teams.

Roll-out of software releases.

Tracking and evaluating performance metrics.

Work on CI/CD pipelines

Participate in on call duties

Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Employees at all levels are expected to:

Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or similar field of study

Requires 7 to 10 years related experience

A strong hands-on programmer with demonstrated ability in writing good quality efficient code.

A technical leader able to design architectures and drive software implementation

Expertise and strong experience in one or more popular programming languages (Preferably Python, but others like Java, Golang, JavaScript is acceptable)

Experience working with databases, SQL or NoSQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis etc.)

Experience working with Machine Learning models, integrating models in API-based services, training ML models

Experience working in a self-sufficient DevOps team, responsible for writing software and deploying it to production

Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and following best practices

Experience with AWS

Experience with Kubernetes

Experience with Bash, Linux environments and utilities

Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus / Grafana

Experience working with agile practices

Strong problem-solving and analysis skills, a team player and passion for learning and adapting to new technologies
