Position Purpose
What’s the role -
As a member of the Facility Engineering team, your role is to ensure the integrity and reliability of Midstream’s assets. The Facility Engineering team is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of offshore crude and gas transportation assets operated by Shell Midstream. The team is passionate about protecting Shell Midstream’s License to Operate and Reputation by preventing HSSE incidents and meeting our customer’s needs. Primary workplace will be in Greater New Orleans & Southeast Louisiana. Site visits and execution of technical support activities will take place at onshore locations in Southeast Louisiana and offshore platforms in the Gulf of Mexico.
Accountabilities
Facilitating Asset Care Plans – Identifying and Selecting the right preventative maintenance plans for pipeline equipment
Operations Technical Support – Tank and Pipeline Hydraulic Calculations
Supporting the Offshore Pipeline Business Unit by facilitating maintenance of the long-term asset business plans (i.e. Asset Master Plan) and identifying appropriate business & safety risk associated with short term threats and opportunities.
Delivering Asset Risk Management support to Offshore Operations stakeholders (ex. Management of Change, HEMP, HAZOP, HAZID, Barrier Assurance Reviews).
Lead and/or Support Root Cause Analysis Investigations to identify causes to undesired process safety events, develop corrective actions, and share learnings within Shell Midstream Organization.
Providing asset specific engineering input to Head Office facilitated projects (ex. HAZOP, HAZID, & Human Factor reviews) with opportunities to deliver simple field driven projects.
Custodian of Offshore Pipeline Critical Drawings – drawings reviews and revisions.
Special Challenges
Multiple active pipelines and stations/platforms require ability to carry multiple projects/actions at same time and managing competing priorities
Support establishing and maintaining good working relationships with internal stakeholders, co-owners, and government regulatory agencies.
Identification and implementation of best practices and opportunities to streamline ways of working, including process improvement
Team and stakeholders are spread across different physical locations, requiring in-person and virtual collaboration. Communication, engagement, and documentation skills are critical.
Skills & Requirements
What we need from you –
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Ability to provide operations technical support and local asset knowledge to projects all while maintaining process safety and reliability of asset base. Beyond that, we hope to see as many of the following in your professional history:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering Discipline
Ability to engage stakeholders
Knowledge of pipeline systems and operations (Offshore experience is a plus)
Knowledge of codes and regulations that govern pipelines
Communications and facilitation skills
Innovative, flexible, and open to display Learner Mindset
Ability to demonstrate Visible Leadership at Offshore Operated sites within the Shell Midstream asset base
Ability to identify and rank business and safety risk
Ability to attain T-Huet and travel to offshore locations
Compliance with Shell COVID Vaccine Policy
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work well in a diverse, multidisciplinary team environment using virtual and in-person collaboration.
