Senior Manager/Manager, CTDO Strategic Sourcing
This position will report into the Strategic Sourcing team supporting the Cell Therapy Development and Operations (CTDO) organization. The person will be responsible for the strategic procurement of materials and services enabling the launch and operations of multiple cell therapy assets specifically based at the Celgene-Seattle sites. These therapies represent a significant advancement in cancer treatment technology and patient responses.
Major Accountabilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Identify, select, contract and manage relationships across different procurement categories
Serve as primary point of contact for Strategic Sourcing for specified NJ CTDO site
Interact daily with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and other teams to ensure supply continuity for CTDO sites
Develop and execute related category plans with partnership with CTDO stakeholders
Drive total cost of ownership by leading cost savings and avoidance opportunities
Partner with Supplier Quality on resolution of supplier issues and supplier development activities
Collaborate with Development and Technical teams on sourcing efforts to mitigate risk to materials for each product
Enable business growth by providing market insights and subject matter expertise to key Business Partners
Organize and support operational and strategic SRM meetings between suppliers and CTDO
Demonstrate a willingness to roll up your sleeves to do whatever is required to achieve local and global CTDO objectives
Education / Competencies/ Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or Business (Graduate Degree strongly preferred)
At least 6-8 years of pharmaceutical GMP experience procurement or external manufacturing
Previous Cell Therapy sourcing or operations experience (strongly preferred)
Strong influencing capabilities and must be able to interact and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
Previous experience negotiating and contracting key operational partnerships
Solid analytical skills and financial acumen
Strong procurement skills (e.g. negotiation, contracting, supplier management)
Experience leading cross-functional and global project teams
Commercialization experience in fast-paced GMP startup, breakthrough designation product launch or similar drug launch environment (strongly preferred)
ISM, CIPS, APICS, Lean/Six Sigma certifications (strongly preferred)
Availability to travel (10-20%). Will need to travel locally between local NJ locations and external supplier locations.
