The Director, Process Improvement analyzes, and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements. The Director, Process Improvement requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.
Responsibilities
Humana is seeking to find an experienced leader to provide strategic direction and leadership to oversee the Enterprise Associate & Business Solutions (EABS) organization. Individual will have approximately 12-15 professionals within the organization. The leader will report directly into the Senior of Vice President, EABS for Humana and sit within the organization's senior leadership team. The role will own the oversight and responsibility for the organization's data reporting, performance management, analytics, and governance of functions within the EABS organization. They will also be responsible for (but not limited to) communications strategy and implementation, strategic procurement initiatives, innovation management, technology (in partnership with other shared service teams like IT, HR technology team, etc.), process improvement, and workload prioritization. The scope and scale of this role is extremely vast. Candidates must come with an experienced leadership background and with deep knowledge of how to lead teams and manage via influence. In addition to leading the EABS Center of Excellence (CoE) function, it is expected the new leader will also provide the strategic vision for the function - exploring and incorporating industry best practices for shared services and global/enterprise business services organizations. The leader will proactively drive process improvements in a number of key operational areas to meet and exceed enterprise goals. It's critical that the leader is skilled in the area of people leadership. The leader should be able to inspire their team to excellence, have a passion for coaching and developing talent, and take a 'people/talent first' approach in their leadership style. The individual should be a strong communicator and have the ability to build relationships with other senior leaders across the Humana enterprise. They should understand how to build creditability in a complex organization and use the skill of influence in getting things done.
Required Skills
Candidates should have had a successful career showing consistent career progression into roles of increasing responsibility, complexity, and scale
Experience leading a team of substantial size responsibility and have a track record of introducing innovation and best practices into a complex organization
Experience in leading outsourcing relationships and service integration
Experience managing and working with an array of service providers
Experience improving performance and service metrics, and significantly reducing expenses
Demonstrated ability to manage and implement technology solutions to support enterprise objectives
Experience in creating technology roadmaps and managing complex technology projects from inception to implementation
A person who considers themselves to be an out-of-box thinker with demonstrated experience in innovation development and management
Ability to ensure that solutions are created with end-user 'experience' being at the center of the design, planning, and implementation
A well-rounded businessperson who partners effectively with stakeholders and who can earn the respect and trust of peers and members of the senior management team

Plan and drive performance management sustainment initiatives
Manage performance to Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements
Build of culture of strong relationship management with key leaders across the enterprise
Partner with procurement to develop common contracting strategies and act as common interface with procurement on behalf of the EABS organization
Evaluate current resource allocations to assure staff is properly positioned based on their technical capabilities and effectiveness.
Lead initiatives that support outsourcing initiatives
Industry research and benchmarking to ensure appropriate outsourcing solutions
Assist in the establishment of a supplier base and network for outsourcing
Assist in providing oversight and compliance guidance for contract administration
Single point management and oversight for all EABS special initiatives and CoE projects
Define and communicate industry 'Best Practice' solutions
5 years of leading broad teams of 10-15 resources
5 years' experience working in Strategy, Consultancy or Process Improvement
An undergraduate degree in engineering, information technology, human resource management, supply chain and logistics, or science/technical degree is required.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA
Previously Management Consulting; BCG, McKinsey, etc.
Additional Information
Travel -If based in Louisville no travel required. If outside of Louisville travel as needed up to 30%
