Key responsibilities:
To provide engineering and project support for manufacturing, including coordination of all run the business change initiatives
Provide oversight to the change process to support manufacturing for the single-use facility by managing all aspects of change management (collection and organization ofideas/improvements, prioritization, develop change schedule and ensure schedule adherence to schedule execution, implementation, and closure).
Act as main point of contact for all manufacturing related change controls and CAPA, interacting with other support functions such as Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Validation, Automation, Manufacturing Support, and Manufacturing. Ensure on time completion of CAPA records.
Actively manage and execute the change control process from prioritization, socialization through implementation and closure; work closely with change owners (Project Leads, Manufacturing Support, Engineering, or other) to develop change schedule and ensure schedule adherence to schedule.
Establish, develop and report Metrics related to change controls. Drive changes as needed to the business process to ensure on time completion and right first time execution.
Responsible for management of manufacturing ideas, issues, change initiatives that come from the floor, ideas program, safety projects, or yellow belt initiatives. Create and maintain intake process and maintain database for book of work items. Develop appropriate communication pathways during project execution and implementation.
Acts as project manager/facilitator for continuous improvement/OpEx projects. Provide coaching and guidance within the facility for Yellow Belt/Green Belt projects.
Work with Site OpEx to identify best practices and provide coaching on OPEX tools (e.g. Gemba, 5S, Standard Work, VSM, etc.), Six Sigma tools (e.g. data analysis, root-cause analysis, statistical analysis) projects, and behaviors within the facility.
Own and drive prioritization of site change initiatives working closely with Quality, Site Engineering, Manufacturing, and Manufacturing Support as needed. Ensure alignment on prioritization tools, and effectively communicate prioritized items.
Ensure item prioritization aligns with site prioritization; ensure book of work considers work execution from all aspects of the organization for which shared resources are used. Understand impact of P1/2 projects, and ideas and initiatives of other groups.
Establish and track metrics for key performance indicators for the single-use facility and develop communication and response plan for the metrics.
Support for and development of visual management in the facility.
Qualifications:
Bachelors with ≥ 6 yrs experience as a team member or leader of cross-functional teams working in a manufacturing environment
Masters with ≥ 4 yrs experience as a team member or leader of cross-functional teams working in a manufacturing environment
B.S. in science, engineering or similar relevant discipline preferred
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively support multiple project teams and quickly build trust and credibility
Ability to self-manage support of multiple project team leaders simultaneously (ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines)
Ability to influence others in a matrix environment to achieve common site goals
Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills
Strong problem solving skills, including ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete their objectives.
Adaptable to a fast paced and complex business environment
Effectively facilitates meetings involving cross-functional groups
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to vary styles of communication based on the audience
Demonstrated change management skills and ability to simplify and improve business processes
Interest in self-development of advanced operational excellence (lean, six sigma, etc)
Interest in learning Biologics manufacturing and related operations and understanding activities performed within site departments and support groups
Experience in lean methodology and proven record for driving improvements a plus
Biologics experience a plus
