Job Description:
Position Purpose
The Pennsylvania Chemical Plant, formerly known as Project Franklin, will be a world-scale petrochemical plant in Western Pennsylvania that upgrades locally-produced ethane from Marcellus and Utica shale formations gas production to make polyethylene. The petrochemical complex will consist of a world-scale Ethane Cracker Unit (ECU), multiple polyethylene (PE) units, PE logistics and supporting OSBL (utilities, general facilities, storage, and hydrocarbon logistics). The Final Investment Decision was made in Q2 2016 and the project is now in Execute Phase. As construction of the site progresses, the site is now growing to support Commissioning and Start-Up activities and prepare for full operation.

This position is critical to the mission of team, and this will promise to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience supporting a unique rotating equipment kit; containing extremely high horsepower centrifugal compressors, cryogenic compressors, reciprocating compressors, expanders, gas turbine generators, world class & massive extrusion machinery.
What’s the role?
The position will work in the Engineering group within a combined department consisting of: Engineering, Maintenance, Projects and Turnarounds and reports to the Rotating Equipment Mgr.
While the position is not a supervisory position, it does require strong leadership attributes/skills to be successful.
In the Rotating Equipment Engineer role, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role within a Production area to ensure operational readiness of established systems and it’s associated rotating equipment. Successful candidate will provide technical support for the Commissioning and Startup (CSU) of Rotating Equipment including final construction validation, execution of technical assurance plans and lead efforts for commissioning plans with operations to ensure a safe and successful Start-up of the process units. After each Area CSU, candidate with provide technical support to the Production team in order to maintain safe and reliable operations of rotating equipment.
Accountabilities:
Deliver GOAL ZERO in safety, environmental, process safety
Support Integrated Commissioning and Start-Up team by providing technical assurance and support for Rotating Equipment
Proactive in understanding Pre-Comm and CSU plans for machinery, identifying improvement opportunities related to cost, schedule, equipment readiness, equipment validation/testing, and propose solutions to identified opportunities.
Support Proactive Condition Monitoring, SMART, vibration monitoring and other condition monitoring platforms/programs for the applicable equipment at SPM
Provide discipline technical assurance for site work processes including MOC, ESP, MEC, ME, MTO, etc during the CSU window
Technical authority on Management of Change reviews to ensure safe operation and design of equipment and related changes. Applies engineering technology to improve safety and environmental related issues.
Provide coaching and training to REQ team members and maintenance crafts in such areas as troubleshooting, proactive monitoring, PM’s, repairs, and similar for Polymer equipment.
Provide technical assurance and support to Production Team in order to maintain safe and reliable operations of rotating equipment

Skills & Requirements
What we need from you -
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
Minimum of seven (7) experience in hydrocarbon processing, power generation, or petrochemical manufacturing facility.
Previous experience in CSU of new equipment preferred
Strong equipment and process troubleshooting skills
Good understanding of rotating equipment interaction with process, controls, and safeguarding.
Strong equipment failure diagnostics skills
Use of Industry Standards and Codes like API, ASME, ANSI, ASTM, Hydraulic institute standards.
Use of company standards and practices such as DEPs and SPG’s
