Description
The Senior Cloud Services Engineer enables cloud to provide optimal performance, continuity and efficiency in virtualized, on-demand environments. The Senior Cloud Services Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Responsibility includes automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration on multi-cloud environments i.e. GCP and Azure. Also responsible for build and deploy multi-cloud solutions.
Responsibilities
The Senior Cloud Services Engineer utilizes software that manages and monitors networks, systems and applications not only to guarantee performance to cloud software environments but also to better orchestrate and automate provisioning of resources. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.
Being part of platform engineering team, you will build cloud infrastructure operations, support CI/CD pipelines, write Terraform scripts to provision infrastructure as code, and provide operational support for all GCP and Azure infrastructure. You will also help build critical pieces of application infrastructure including compute resources and GKE clusters.
Technologists who are passionate about hands-on coding and engineer software products will find this position very rewarding. These products, center around facilitating bi-directional exchange of information using event-driven architecture across cloud native platforms, meant to enable interoperability which is highly visible initiative in Humana. The candidate will work in small team focused on Product engineering and collaborate with other product engineers.
Work with engineering team to implement cloud-based solutions
Manage Cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines
Problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Extensive knowledge of APIs to design RESTful Services, and integrate them with existing data providers, using JSON or XML.
Follow best practices for development processes
Expertise in Cloud monitoring, logging, and tracing tools.
Define and set development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps
Experience with Agile Software development methodologies
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
5 or more years of technical experience
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Certification in Cloud Technologies a plus.
Proficient in C# or Java, Python, GCP or Azure technologies
Knowledge of networking and internet protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and distributed networks.
