Company Description Job Description SourceOne Inc., a Veolia Company, is looking for students to participate in a co-op position supporting our Engineering and Project Management Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting project development and energy related projects, including design and commissioning projects for microgrids, distributed energy resources, central utility plants, and renewable energy solutions. The role will report to the Senior Project Manager and will work directly with the engineering team.
We are looking for a motivated self-starter with strong analytical and technical skills who is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in engineering. Must be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Work will include assisting in energy audits and analysis and may include occasional field work at local project sites.
Responsibilities:
The intern shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Document control (including energy modeling, rate analysis, selection of technologies, feasibility studies, reports, and client presentations)
Cost control (supporting management with project budget and control expenses effectively)
Review key project documents including P&IDs, Plot Plans, Operating Manuals, etc.
Tracks costs and reports against budget.
Assist in preparation of and review of client invoices with Accounting
Auditing/documentation of field efforts
Customer utility energy & rate analysis. Creating customer load profiles, performing energy audits, and identifying Energy Conservation Measures.
Support all project phases – including development, engineering (basic and detailed), and procurement.
Track project against its schedule, budget and against objectives, reporting status to management on a regular basis.
Prepare periodic management and/or customer reports and presentations.
Review and verify project estimates monthly.
Report project budget and control expenses effectively.
Qualifications Currently pursuing BE/BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred (preferable in an Engineering or Construction Environment)
Knowledge of power generation facilities development, combined heat & power (CHP) projects a plus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Possesses an understanding of Construction Process a plus.
Be familiar with mechanical and electrical equipment
Possesses a broad understanding of each engineering discipline.
Effective computer skills; Google applications, Microsoft Office Software, Autocad, Energy Modeling software and other
Ability to travel and work remotely
