Senior Staff Engineer, Platforms - San Jose, CA

The Opportunity - 

As part of the Platform engineering team,

this role will focus on building the next-gen solutions to deliver on our company’s hybrid multi-cloud vision. Specifically, the individual will provide technical leadership to onboard new HW technologies for advanced software infrastructure and workload expansion and ensure Software compatibility for increasing hardware diversity.

Your Role:

Develop an understanding of complex distributed systems and design innovative Storage and networking solutions for emerging HW technologies.

Lead exploration and POC-prototyping of new HW technologies. Author design documents for the cross-functional engineering teams to undertake SW development.

Develop deep technical expertise in OEM Server platform HW/FW/SW/tools and facilitate integration into Nutanix Stack.

Define and guide test cases development based on different customer use cases. Design test strategies for efficient and high-quality validation processes.

Work alongside product management, development, test, and documentation teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll bring:

BS/MS in EE/CS/CE with a minimum of 12 years of experience in enterprise server technologies.

Solid understanding of x86 enterprise architecture, and manageability. Familiarity with OS/Driver/Component interaction. 

Understanding of Storage software stack architecture and related components such as storage controllers, solid-state devices and hard disk drives.

Experience in distributed systems and virtualization.

Proficiency in object oriented languages like C , Java, Python, Golang.

I Joined Nutanix 5 years ago. I lead a global engineering team responsible for OEM platform integration with Nutanix datapath and management plane. My team also delivers SW for deployment, health-management, and upgrades in large-scale distributed data centers.

I am passionate about solving deep technical challenges and looking for a technical leader who has a positive attitude and a confident approach towards challenges, is a great collaborator and team builder, and has a deep appreciation for high quality and customer delight.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $199,200 and $398,400/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
