Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Provide work instructions for the servicing of Aeroderivative Gas Turbine engines in compliance with business standards to meet or exceed customer expectations
Point of Contact for Engineering support needed to resolve any issues (via NCRs, PAC cases, configuration questions etc.) that arise in the shop during the engine repair cycle
Recommend and advise on options to meet or exceed technical requirements while striving to achieve operational schedules and commercial contract commitments on cost and on time delivery
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Customers, peers, Depot Support Engineers, Production team, Fulfillment Managers, CSMs and other functions as primary technical POC for the engine
Provide leadership during critical business meetings such as CSM Hand Over, Gate 1 Closure (meeting owner), Test reject meetings etc.
Monitor and communicate project status, keep overall team posted of developments
Ensure timeliness and accuracy of Customer reports incoming, findings and test
Lead RCAs and Engine test failure investigations Customer Technical POC; when required
Assure proper documentation of technical data and findings generated for the assigned projects, consistent with shop policies and procedures
Provide technical guidance to shop hourly personnel; participate in shop improvement action workouts as needed
Provide vendor repair support on DR’s, determine overall impact against work scope
Be responsible for meeting all established safety, quality, delivery and cost goals of the Houston Service Center
Assist in implementation of changes into shop routers when applicable
Share best practices with Project Engineers from other GE network shops
Implement Lean Six Sigma to reduce cycle time and cost of quality and improve OTD.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Science / Engineering in a related field (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of Gas Turbine· experience)
Minimum of 4 years of Gas Turbine experience
Desired Characteristics
Master’s Degree in Science / Engineering in a related field plus minimum 4 years of Gas Turbine experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience with proven in depth
Knowledge with troubleshooting engines in the field or during engine test preferably in key Gas turbine CTQ areas such as performance or vibration analysis
Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements and best practices
Strong oral and written communication, and project management skills
Proven leadership skills; good interpersonal and influencing skills
Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects / priorities simultaneously
