Description

The Windows Deployment Systems Engineer 2 is responsible for design, analysis, configuration and maintenance of complex systems software solutions, based on a thorough knowledge of systems engineering and programming concepts and techniques. Systems software engineering is a specialized area of engineering focused on software that operates/controls computer hardware and provides a platform for running end user applications. Includes operating systems, device drivers, utilities, and software; development tools (e.g., assemblers, compilers, etc.). The Systems Engineer 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer 2 develops and/or modifies systems software for use internally, conducts requirements gathering and analysis, and supports software/hardware testing, deployment, and maintenance activities. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

This position will be assisting with Humana's Modern Endpoint Management goals, with focus on Autopilot deployment for Over The Air provisioning of new Windows devices directly to end users, transitioning from a traditional OSD environment.

Required Qualifications

3 years as a Systems Engineer in design, analysis, configuration and maintenance of complex systems software solutions, based on a thorough knowledge of systems engineering and programming concepts and techniques

2 years deploying Windows Client Operating System with OSD or similar technologies

Knowledge of OS deployment using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit or Configuration Manager and inner workings of task sequences.

Fluent in most components of Windows deployment such as Windows ADK, WinPE, Windows Setup, PXE boot, etc.

Experience with Windows Autopilot and related technologies such as Desktop as a Service, Cloud provisioning, Intune, and Azure AD.

Experience in delivery of configurations, applications, drivers, and BIOS updates during device provisioning.

Experience in Windows first time use configurations such as Bitlocker, Defender suite, taskbar, start menu, and profile customizations.

Intermediate skill with PowerShell for the automation of OS and application configuration.

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

2 Years Experience Experience with Windows Autopilot and related technologies such as Desktop as a Service, Cloud provisioning, Intune, and Azure AD etc.

3 years working with PowerShell automation, scripting, etc.

Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Field
