Senior Analytics Engineer

Profile

We’re looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our Analytics & Data Systems Engineering team. This role actively partners with engineers, business stakeholders, data subject matter experts and analysts to deliver well-defined, transformed, tested, and code-reviewed data sets to the organization.

As a member of this team, your combined experience in stakeholder engagement and building solid, scalable data models for complex dataflows will enable business teams to succeed in implementing new and interesting opportunities while getting the most out of existing products and services.

Responsibilities:

Build, test and monitor data pipelines to consolidate source system data into a data lake and data warehouse

Design, build, publish, and maintain data models that support performant, reliable, and flexible querying and reporting

Collaborate with development teams, peer solution engineers, and architects to ensure solution alignment with technical architecture and stakeholder needs

Actively participate in team design sessions, code review, and combined deployment efforts

Create and maintain clear technical documentation

Participate in engineer on-call rotation for maintenance of critical data pipelines

Mentor and contribute to data management and data architecture standards and best practices

Skills & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar with 10 years related experience

Strong leadership, communication, collaboration skills with a track record of taking solution ownership

Extensive experience with extracting, loading, and transforming data between diverse technologies and systems

Extensive experience querying, visualizing, and presenting data

Experience using monitoring and troubleshooting tools for performance tuning and optimization

Experience in schema design, data modeling strategies (e.g. relational and dimensional modeling, structured and unstructured data), and data modeling tools

Experience working in cloud-based Data Warehouse and Data Lake environments

Experience with at least one scripting language such as Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript

Nice to Have

Hands-on Snowflake development experience

Experience with data warehouse automation tools (e.g. DBT)

Experience with reporting tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Looker)

Knowledge of cloud architecture (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

Experience with Azure Data Factory for ETL development
