Description
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Voice Channel IVR Team you will be a part a team supporting over 55 million member and agent calls annually. We are seeking software engineer who is smart, curious, and loves the challenge of solving problems that improve our member experience and interactions with Humana. Our solution uses micro services and cloud technologies to deliver an experience that strives to be industry leading. You'll collaborate with a fun and close-knit agile team to architect, implement, test and continuously deliver new features and products to our customers.

The Senior Software Engineer standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software, oversees testing and debugging and develops fixes, researches complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issuesMakes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
In support of our IVR applications, the ideal candidate will partner with other associates to analyze, develop, implement and integrate moderate and complex business systems that will optimize business outcomes. The applicant will be required to perform analysis of requirements, development of code, and support User Acceptance Testing. Coding will require the use of .Net, .NetCore, Java, Web API, SSIS, third party API integration, Splunk, GCP, Kubernetes, and supporting batch and real time communications. In addition to these duties front end development will be required to support and enhance user interfaces developed for our business users to support monitoring and reviewing outbound communications. Finally, the applicant will be expected to support occasional after hours support in support of our systems.
Provide development and ongoing software support and issue resolution
Build a standards-driven, scalable, secure and dynamic portal for the information delivery of specific based applications
Partner with other business areas within Humana to understand application requirements and develop programming specifications for development staff
Develop enhancements, resolve issues, coordinate testing of statement releases and oversee regular production efforts including DevOps activities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science in MIS / Computer Science, technical area preferred or technical training/experience equivalent
Five years of experience designing, developing, and testing of software applications and/or infrastructure
Prior Web, API development experience with any standard technology stack like .Net or Java
Understanding of agile and agile design patterns
Application development experience following various coding standards
Understanding of code review process and standards
Role Desirables
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field
Experience with TFS/Azure DevOps, GIT and build automation
Experience with JavaScript, JQuery, XML, JSON, HTML 5
Strong written and oral communication
Cloud Experience
