What’s the Role?

This role is an exciting opportunity to shape and build the emerging Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) business in The Americas. The successful candidate will be part of the Shell’s Renewables and Energy Solutions (R&ES) team leading sales and business development of CCS solutions for customers across all sectors. Success in building customer demand will enable the development of a growing portfolio of CCS projects, Blue Hydrogen, Low Carbon Fuels, and Industrial decarbonization themes. The role will manage external interface with senior stakeholders and customers (e.g . Managing Directors of manufacturing plants, Strategy and Sustainability Executives etc).

Shell CCS starting ambition for North America is to develop a material capture, transport, and storage business from Shell’s own assets and third-party emissions with a potential for significant growth as we support other industries decarbonization efforts in different regional hubs. Additionally, CCS will enable Shell to develop value added low CI products, providing revenue beyond today’s 45Q carbon price.

CCS Market Development will play a key part in aggregating third-party demand and building long-term partnerships with strategic customers to help secure government funding and deliver CCS projects. This role will also have a key link into the policy and advocacy requirements to ensure a close linkage between what the projects/customers require to be commercially viable and the groups advocacy position.

What we need from you?

As part of a Natural Team, you will be the CCS Subject Mater Expert (SME) working with other SMEs at the General Manger (GM) and GM-1 level including Industry Sector, Hydrogen,, Gas & Power to offer end to end decarbonization solutions to customers. This role will champion CCS commercial thought leadership including disseminating and embedding of cross project learning between regions and delivering CCS commercial strategy for North America. Close interaction with CCS Asset Commercial, Strategy and Growth teams will be essential to ensure development of a competitive CCS value chain aligned with evolving market demand.

Skills & Requirements

What we need from you –

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Engineering, or similar fields or an equivalent combination of experience and education. MBA is a plus.

Candidate must have 8 years of working experience in the related field. Preferably in the Oil and

Gas or Heavy Industry

Innovative thinker with ability to translate experience and skillset to build a new business within the Energy Transition (learner mindset).

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) able to meet requirements of a range of senior internal and external stakeholders. Involve multiple stakeholders both internally and externally.

A wide commercial background with a flair for innovation and solving complex problems.
