Full Stack Web Application Engineer

Aon is looking to hire a Full Stack Web Application Engineer AON currently has an immediate opening for a Full Stack Web Application Engineer with a strong background particularly with Backend Development (using either Python, or C# MS.NET, or Java), strong Database experience (Postgress preferred but will also consider experience with MS SQL or Oracle). Any experience with Frontend development (such as VueJs or AngularJs or ReactJs) would be a big plus. Experience with AWS or Azure Cloud technologies would be ideal as well.We are seeking candidates that will or can be based out of Spokane, WA. This role will start out initially working Remote/Virtually 100% of the time but eventually should be prepared to come into the office at least a couple times every other week in a form of Hybrid work from home the majority of the time but with the ability to come onsite to our office location in Spokane, WA. Job Responsibilities:Write code to implement and maintain our web applications and micro-services.Propose technical solutions to engineering problems.Create reliable, scalable and maintainable software.Publish documentation and diagrams of our technical designs.Apply development and process standards.Diagnose, debug and perform root­ cause analysis of issues and defects.Collaborate with fellow software engineers to build features requested by business stakeholders.Adapt to a rapid changing environment, requirements and priorities.Write and executes unit test cases to verify functionality.Participate in code reviews with other engineers.Ensure engineering requirements are clear, concise and complete prior to starting development.Partner with the team and stakeholders to evaluate level of effort for different initiatives.Required Experience and Characteristics:A minimum of 2 to 5 years of software development experience designing and creating web applications.Experience as a development contributor either as a full-stack or backend engineer (frontend experience a big plus).Self-starter with the ability to be independently responsible for broad feature areas.Experience using source control to manage code.Experience developing software in a team environment.Written and verbal communication skills.Willingness to work in a highly collaborative environment.Desire to bring your background and experience to the team and learn from others.An inquisitive mind and a desire to promote innovation.Experience writing and maintaining automated tests. Preferred Experience:Experience with Python development on the backend (or MS.NET or Java development on the backend).Database experience with Postgres preferred (or MS SQL or Oracle would also be considered).Experience with Javascript and frameworks such as VueJS, React and or Angular.Experience developing scalable REST APIs.Experience with databases, schema design, indexing, and optimizing queries.Experience developing in a cloud-native environment such as AWS and/or Azure.Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD tools and methodologies.Experience with container-based systems such as Docker.Experience with infrastructure as code such as Terraform or Cloud Formation. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience  We offer you A competitive total rewards package, continuing education & training, and tremendous potential with a growing worldwide organization.  Our Colleague Experience: From helping clients gain access to capital after natural disasters, to creating access to health care and retirement for millions, Aon colleagues empower results for our clients, communities, and each other every day.  They make a difference, work with the best, own their potential, and value one another.  This is the Aon Colleague Experience, defining what it means to work at Aon and realizing our vision of empowering human and economic possibility.
