Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Advance Test Reactor (ATR) System Engineering group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a System Engineer.
Our team works an on-site 4x10 schedule located at our ATR facility with every Friday off!
Responsibilities Include:
Demonstrate complete understanding and application of principles and theories related to nuclear instrumentation and controls.
Creatively resolve a wide range of issues by specific application of concepts and principles in field of specialization and general knowledge of other subject areas.
Independently and proactively monitor System Health of assigned I&C systems.
Identify system deficiencies, review work orders, interact with maintenance personnel, and oversee corrective and preventative maintenance activities to successfully maintain system functionality.
Ensure configuration management (drawings, documentation, labelling, etc) of all assigned system per approved INL guidelines and procedures.
Participate in engineering/ project evaluations and apply engineering principles, theories, and concepts to ensure excellence in system design/ functionality and project execution.
Interact with Operations personnel and take appropriate actions as required to reduce Operator burdens, challenges, and workarounds.
Stay cognizant of assigned system characteristics and component deterioration to proactively identify areas of improvement to ensure a high degree of system health.
Implement system updates/modifications as required to ensure system operability and functionality.
Identify risks associated with assigned systems and present these risks and potential mitigating actions to the ATR Plant Health Committee.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science field and 5-8 years or an advanced degree and 3-6 years of relevant experience.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy L clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
Job Information
Salary Grade: PR0300 - 220 ($107,520 - $177,336) / PR0400 - 230 ($121,212 - $206,232)
