Job Description:

What’s the role –

More specifically, the role requires that you:

Maintain a knowledge of current and emerging testing technologies for electro-thermal, electro-chemical and electro-mechanical applications in industrial electrification.

Identify test needs in technology and product programs and translate to implementation plans.

Manage the design, build and operation of component and system test units for development and demonstration purposes.

Form and lead project-based teams from Shell’s technology centers, operational sites and external parties to perform test and demonstration activities.

Integral member of ‘agile’ product development teams; responsible for conducting rapid testing as part of rapid design-test development methodology.

Design and implementation of instrumentation and data handling systems for component, demonstration and, where necessary, field equipment.

Apply Shell’s procedures for development, testing and project execution to deliver the targeted outcomes with a continuous focus on safety and risk management.

Support the screening, selection, qualification, integration and management of suppliers and partners throughout the development and RoE life cycle.

Drive HSSE excellence always for personnel, operations and in the inherent design of the product-based solutions.

What we need from you -

A legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, physics, sustainable energy technology or a related discipline with a strong component of electrical power. With at least ten plus (10 ) years’ experience in the development of equipment or key components in high energy electro-thermal, electro-mechanical or power systems applications.

Specific skills and experiences must include:

A passion and commitment to using your knowledge and experience to help the energy transition and decarbonization of society through economically attractive solutions.

Fundamental understanding of high voltage and other high energy (e.g. high temperature) experimental techniques.

Experience in the design, construction, and operation of high energy testing activities.

Proficiency in the use of testing in rapid design-test based product development (‘agile’ techniques) with a continued and sharp focus on design for cost and manufacture.

Deep experience in HSSE for high energy testing activities.

Deep understanding of measurement and instrumentation technologies.

Experience in data capture and analysis from test, demonstration, and field equipment for feedback in development and continuous improvement.

Proven project management skills.

Experience in delivering outcomes in a matrix organization.

Good communication and presentation skills with experience in supplier and partner settings.

Collaborative leadership style, with a commitment to an inclusive work culture.
