Job Description Veolia Water Technologies, Inc. (VWT) is currently seeking a Process Engineer II for our Cary, NC office. This position will provide engineering support for Kruger product lines.
SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to provide engineering support for Kruger product lines. Duties include: preliminary and final detailed process design, proposal preparation, modeling/simulations, equipment specification and selection, write control system functional descriptions, plant start-up and operator training, plant operations support and troubleshooting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform analyses of plant operating data and summarize conclusions
Perform lab scale testing and analysis, demonstrate the ability to identify trends and practical solutions based on conclusions identified
Develop an in depth working knowledge of both commercial and Veolia Confidential Design and Modeling tools for the purpose of
Process Design
Plantwide Model Simulations
Development/Improvement of Confidential Design Tools and Procedures
Complete technical evaluations of new and existing water/wastewater treatment technologies
Generate and conduct a general review of project specifications and construction plans (relative to Kruger scope)
Develop written plans and sampling protocols for troubleshooting and evaluation of water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Develop ability to perform the following general engineering functions
Project Specific Technology Selection
Detailed Review of project plans and specifications
Generate P&IDs
Select and Size equipment and hydraulic elements (e.g. pumps, piping, weirs, channels, troughs, gates, flow-control valves, etc)
Assist with process startup and commissioning, train plant operations personnel (as needed). Potential 30% travel.
Self starter with ability to multi-task and take on multiple projects at a time.
Self educator with ability to read, comprehend, and apply technical knowledge obtained from literature review.
Collaborate internally with process engineering staff, pilot engineering group, mechanical design team, instrumentation & controls team, sales dept., and project managers.
With proper support and exposure, a short learning curve for technical aspects of a given product is expected.
Develop and maintain training modules for all product lines as experience is gained
Assist with process training for new and existing employees as experience is gained
Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
PhD in Environmental or Civil Engineering with focus on water and wastewater treatment
0-3 years of experience in process design of water and wastewater treatment.

Travel for this position ranges from a day in length to over a week. The frequency depends on project needs.
