Description
ESS Business Intelligence is an Enterprise Shared Services team focused on data, reporting and data science supporting Humana's Service Operations. The team is focused on converting data to actionable insights for our business partners who can utilize to reduce administrative cost and improve the customer's experience.
This position will work within the Advanced Analytics team, as part of the broader ESS Business Intelligence organization. This team is focused on Data Science, Data Consulting, Data Visualization and Reporting.
Responsibilities
The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 within Enterprise Shared Services helps to solve complex business problems and issues by creating insights for our business partners. ESS BI is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer 2 to support our reporting and dashboard request for Knowledge and Learning Systems (KLS). As part of the ESS BI team, your responsibilities could primarily involve the following:
Lead and support healthcare analytics visualization projects
Work collaboratively to design, build and maintain ESS BI data visualization standards for our customers
Work collaboratively to optimally apply data warehouse, cloud and BI architecture, data science and visualization tools and techniques (i.e. dashboards)
Identify and understand business and clinical issues to map these issues into quantitative questions
Coordinate the integration of data to determine trends and impact
Work with complex health care databases to produce statistical output and interpret results
Communicate insights and analytical findings to a broad range of audiences
Use PowerBI tool including visualizations, data flows, etc.
Understanding healthcare related data
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Less than 5 years of data analysis experience
Direct / hands-on experience with PowerBI development
1 or more years of experience in SQL, SAS or other data systems
In-depth experience in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivots, charts, graphs, etc.
Expertise in assessing complex data sets and performing root cause analysis
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Understanding healthcare related data
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Familiarity with big data languages such as R, Python/PySpark and familiarity with cloud architecture
Experience with data mining and predictive modeling techniques
Familiarity with Cornerstone (CSOD) a plus
Ability to use data to drive business outcomes and decisions
