Our team is searching for an Industrial Engineer to oversee construction and start-up of a brand-new, highly automated food manufacturing facility in Bowling Green, KY.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
During the construction and early start-up days of the facility, you will be relied on to:
Play a leading role in the implementation of automation
Plan IE strategies to initiate and implement projects
Co-develop the engineering labor standards for new equipment and lines
Create Standard Work Instructions for the critical and relevant operations within the four walls of the plant
Maximize labor resource effectiveness for a plant of 450 team members
Provide information for managerial decision-making
The long-term areas of focus for this position will be to:
Lead project implementation across various areas of the plant in order to improve operational metrics relevant to the success of the plant
Execute problem solving and variation reduction activities to achieve desired cost saving and AOP targets
Collaborate to other team members to apply and maintain TPS (Tyson Productivity System) methodology
Work with other enterprise leaders in the continuous identification and implementation of use cases for process optimization, leveraged by digital solutions
Be the right hand of the plant manager and a critical change agent for the facility
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor of science in Industrial engineering, Business Administration or technical degree combined with applicable industry experience
Experience: 2 plus years or industrial engineering or lean manufacturing leadership preferred
Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills: knowledge and exposure to engineering related computer systems. Must be proficient in MS office.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Supervisory: This position may directly or through influence supervise a group of personnel in a single department or work unit who perform similar and or interrelated tasks and activities interacting significantly with other areas internally and externally; supervisory responsibilities and assisting in the maintenance and development of other team members in the area is expected.
Travel: 3 to 4 trips per year to another facility will be required. Other travel may be required.
