Learn more about Splunk careers and how you can join our journey!Job Description:Splunk is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the On-Prem Hosting Platform Team. You will help evolve our computing platform by migrating applications and services to the cloud. The candidate must have the technical depth and hands-on implementation experience of various DevOps practices and tools.The Senior DevOps Engineer must be comfortable rolling up their sleeves to design and provision infrastructure elements, applications, and processes. You must have a solid record of operations and delivery within an enterprise. You must be passionate about automation and help build scalable tools to run our distributed systems. You will be responsible for expanding and supporting the infrastructure platform services we provide for Splunk.Responsibilities:Manage and maintain IT Public and Private Cloud InfrastructureSupport virtualization and container platformsTroubleshoot performance and stability issues using a variety of tools, including SplunkInstall applications, agents, and OS patches to ensure smooth, secure operations of server platformsFollow change management processes and coordinate with stakeholders to minimize the impactCommunicate complex technical concepts clearly to customers and managementProvide project metrics, benchmarking, and reportingCollaborate with key business partners to capture their requirements and recommend solutionsMaintain critical services and provide visibility to internal teamsBe an advocate for change and seek opportunities to improve or optimize processes through automationParticipate in on-call rotation and respond to day-to-day operational requirements within SLARequirements:5 years of experience in a DevOps-focused environmentProven experience with system administrationExperience managing AWS or other Public Cloud platformsExperience working with several Operating Systems, including Linux and WindowsSolid understanding of networking concepts and protocolsExperience with Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, SaltSolid experience with CI/CD pipeline tools like Jenkins and GitLabProficiency in at least two major scripting languages, including PythonExperience with monitoring and log aggregating frameworks such as SplunkMotivated by and enjoys technology, automation and problem-solvingStrong verbal and written communications skillsAbility to participate effectively across teams and organizationsPreferred Experience:AWS Certification desiredHashicorp, Vault, and Packer experience is a plusKubernetes and container experience is a plusEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experienceWe value diversity, equity, and inclusion at our company.
