What’s the role?
This role covers support for a set of IT applications and services for Shell Catalysts and Technologies (SC&T). SC&T is part of Shell Oil and is an integrated profit & loss business which includes Research & Development, Manufacturing, Sales and Customer Support. SC&T is a growing business investing heavily in new IT systems. The role includes support for established systems as well as new systems being deployed using the latest cloud-based tools and services.
Support Engineering is typically an in-house Level 2 support technician who is Subject Matter Expert in one or more application or infrastructure services. The engineer uses advanced support techniques to analyses and resolves incidents that were raised through the Incident Management process. They use defined work instructions and troubleshooting scripts to debug complex issues associated with these applications / infrastructure services. The engineer documents solutions to known errors to expedite resolution of incidents and performs root cause analysis to minimize re occurrence. The engineer typically leads testing activities against various changes to the application / infrastructure services through the Development, Test, Staging environments and performs Post-Production testing to ensure technical changes have been correctly applied.
Responsibilities include:
End to end operational support for applications such as Aspen Supply Chain Management, SAP MII, Digital Catalyst Vision, and others as assigned to the team.
Site and user support for services such Industrial Mobility and Third-Party Access
Coordination with Shell ISP suppliers, application providers, and other Shell IT support and delivery teams
Additional responsibilities
Act as trusted advisor and build effective relationships
Identify and proactively solve problems and actions improvement opportunities
Develop a detailed knowledge of how the services available for Shell IT can be used
Seek opportunities to expand knowledge and understanding of the business
Contribute to delivery of overall IT objectives and targets
Act in compliance with Security, Safety and other regulatory frameworks in areas of activity
Challenge and shape demand in the Business in a constructive and positive way
This role is part of a team spanning multiple regions supporting a global customer.

Requirements:
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or any related fields.
Minimum of three (3) years of IT experience in a corporate setting.
Role specific skills:
Basic network infrastructure
Basic Windows Server OS
Basics of Active Directory (AD)
Understands Cloud hosting
Industrial Mobility experience desirable (can be learned on the job)
Application support
Application specific skills (learned on the job, some experience with AspenTech Supply Chain Management and/or SAP MII is desirable but can be learned on the job)
Service Management tools and procedures (ITIL, ServiceNow, Incident Management, IRM compliance)
Basic Understanding of Azure Tools and Services such as Data Lake, Streamsets, Functions, Databricks is desirable (can be learned on the job)
Interpersonal skills with experience in building credibility
Proven ability to engage and deliver
Enthusiastic and creative approach to problem solving
Demonstrated ability to work multiple assignments simultaneously
Curious and proactive in learning the systems, tools, and business
