PCB Technology Engineer's mission is to derisk PCB for harsh environment use through creation of PCB rules and selecting capable suppliers of PCB technology. The position is well versed in the manufacturing of Printed Circuit Board, its defects, chemicals, processes and can formulate design guidance for engineering team to ensure proper reliability and quality of PCB through adherence of these guidance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Be the subject matter expert in investigations related to failures of PCB and PWA
Develop the design criteria and rules for PCB layout
Qualify and maintain a list of PCB approved suppliers
Audit PCB suppliers on annual basis to ensure adherence to internal requirements and specifications
Perform Verification and Validation based on Mission Profile for oil and gas industry to validate PCB technology in harsh environment.
Market survey and knowledge search of new and upcoming technologies for PCB manufacturing and high reliability.
Expert on HDI, BGA, Via technology, deposition, epoxy fill, copper fill, buried Via, process for PCB production.
Developing proper controls for ENIG, HASL, Immersion TIN OSP techniques for PCB Finishing and developing
Developing Intermetallic growth prevention techniques based on lead finishes, PCB plating and environmental factors.
Develop design guidelines for PCB and PWA to ensure high reliability in Harsh environment based on IPC Class 3, Military, and Oil and Gas.
Assign, direct and review work of technicians and provide guidance to engineers. With seniority, mentor junior engineers.
Maintain familiarity with company technology, organization and business.
Continually evaluate engineering approaches and risk.
Author technical reports, papers, articles, patents and presentations. Share expertise via Eureka and special interest groups. Expand informal network throughout the organization.
Keep abreast of novel technical concepts and markets. Adopt new practices readily in order to develop innovative and low-cost products
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors or Masters in Engineering with targeted focus of study on Electrical or Chemical or Process or Industrial engineering or relevant engineering degree.
3 years of experience working in a PCB Fabrication shop.
Process and material knowledge of PCB manufacturing with checks for design for manufacturability.
Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship.
