The Platform Manager team is a team of highly collaborative and extremely talented developers. This team is focused on creating the next generation of managed content systems which are responsible for multiple digital experiences, including BestBuy.com

What you will do as an Engineering Manager:

Manage the delivery efforts for an agile team of highly skilled, collaborative, and energetic software engineers

Foster the career development for software engineers that comprise your direct reports within the team

Lead application and solution design

Develop and review both front-end and back-end code using current and leading-edge programming languages, frameworks, and technologies

Provide expertise in software development lifecycle phases, including concept, design, development, testing and deployment

Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to solve problems of a top 5 e-commerce website

Share and champion ideas that evolve how we build our software product

Basic Qualifications:

3 years of software development experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or 5 years of experience without a Bachelor’s degree

Experience building full stack web applications using Java, Spring, JavaScript, and REST

Strong working knowledge of modern engineering concepts including Design Patterns, Domain Driven Design, and Microservices

Preferred Qualifications:

Disciplined software engineering habits including: TDD, Automated Unit Testing

2 years of experience using NoSQL data stores, such as MongoDB

2 years of experience using SQL data stores, such as PostgreSQL, CockroachDB

2 years of experience using Messaging technologies, such as Rabbit, Kafka

2 years of experience using a modern JavaScript library, such as React, Angular

2 years of experience using Node.js

Exposure to one or more Cloud Computing Platforms, such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure

Experience with container/orchestration platforms, such as Docker,

kubernetes,Openshift
