Transport and protection communications is provided for Transmission SCADA, Distribution SCADA, relaying, security and other business control services. Provide oversight and an escalation point for managing service disruptions where transport infrastructure is the root cause and ensure permanent corrective actions are implementedServe as escalation point to review and participate in issue analysis, resolution, and decisions associated with service disruptionsEnsure technology service availability and components are contributing required availability to meet overall, end-to-end service levelsDirect and coordinate strategic planning efforts, hardware upgrades/refreshes, and migrations relating to Telecom services and associated infrastructure. Plans and directs initiatives related to physical placement of network equipment to maintain Telecom Room/Wiring Closet capacity, reliability, and efficiency. Works with Security groups to implement processes and maintain infrastructure required for compliance with internal standards and the Corporate Disaster Recovery Program. Assist with planning, coordination and execution of DR testing. Interfaces with Real Estate/Right of Way and Facilities, as well as other business groups to coordinate Telecom needs for new corporate sites or for new/changing wiring closet facility upgrades. Works with outside telecommunications carriers and third-party utilities to provide communications transport for business functions not available on internal network. Responsible for payment of these services as per negotiated contracts or other agreements. Oversees activities related to evidence collection of communications related data used by various lines of business for NERC, FCC, and other regulatory requirements. Directs all activities associated with long term performance analysis and problem resolution in order to provide optimal utilization and availability of transport infrastructure.Plans and manages the departmental budgets (Capital and O\u0026amp;M).Works with the Internal Audit department and external auditors on audit requests and resultant action items.
