We are currently seeking a Technical or Engineering Lead - Software Engineer (SWE) is capable of leading, organizing, prioritizing and executing SWE activities. Mature judgement required to interface with external stakeholders and senior government personnel. Position located in the Washington D.C./Virginia area. Telecommuting work at management discretion. Work to evaluate and secure cutting-edge technology and engineering capabilities to facilitate modernization efforts and support DoD joint warfighting effortsWork with a team of driven, supportive, and highly skilled professionalsDemonstrates creativity, foresight, initiative, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented problems.Guides and manages all technical and programmatic matters of the Task Order SWE area and is responsible for managing same.Capable of tracking SWE areas of this Task Order efforts to meet assigned tasking and deliverable dates.Support technical members of the SWE task area bySoftware development practice, methodologies, tools, metrics and data analysis.Recommend, assess and organize the task elements within an individual subtask of the SWE area with an understanding of the nature of how the efforts and resultant products affects the advancement of digitally based tools and techniques.Capable of forming groups and leading a group to a solution. Demonstrates creativity, foresight and mature judgement in anticipating, planning for, and solving problems.Responsible for collaboration and support both within the SWE task area and across ENG. Capable of self-directed efforts as well as providing team direction.Capable of research into areas for additional insight.Knowledge of software development activities across all phases of the SW development lifecycle as well as modern languages (e.g. Python, Java, Javascript, C/C , etc.) and tool sets (e.g. Integrated Development Environments, SQL/NoSQL database, etc).Current knowledge/experience with DevSecOps pipelines and supporting technologies including agile development processes and tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Gitlab, etc.) as well as some knowledge and familiarity with containerization (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).Provide Professional Engineering Services in the areas of Technical Expertise and General Engineering Support; Engineering Policy, Guidance, and Standards; Systems Engineering; Engineering Tools and Environment; Specialty Engineering; and Software EngineeringBS degree in field supporting Software Engineering from an accredited college or universityMinimum of 5 years of experience in a discipline that is relevant to the technical work supporting this field of expertise.Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writingAbility to develop papers, reports, and briefings targeted to senior decision makersExperience in establishing strong working relationships within DoD and identifying and resolving issuesExperience to include supporting policy and process engineering activitiesAN ACTIVE DOD SECRET CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION FOR WHICH YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZENMaster’s degree in field supporting Software Engineering from an accredited college or university#LI-JC1The Aerospace Sciences and Engineering (ASE) Division is based in Cocoa Beach, Fla., with facilities and capabilities in Colorado Springs, Colo., El Segundo, Calif., and Orcutt, Calif.
