GDIT is seeking a Network Engineer
to augment the USPS team and work with application owners to administer and troubleshoot Proxy and DNS technologies such as Broadcom Bluecoat and Bluecat DNS on various.
HOW A
Network Engineer
WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
The Network Engineer
will provide specific and ongoing technical support by performing the following tasks:
Configure, administer, document HTTP proxy configurations and PAC file editing and deployment
Configure, administer, document DNS multi-view configuration
High level troubleshooting of network, protocols and application issues
DNS and HTTP proxy administration
Bluecat API scripting in python.
Creation of PAC files using Perl to generate JavaScript PAC function.
Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education
A degree from an accredited College or University in the field of services is preferred
● Required Experience
10 years’ experience
● Required Technical Skills
HTTP proxy configuration, integration, and administration expertise. Preferred Broadcom Bluecoat
DNS configuration, scripting of API calls. Preferred BlueCat Networks
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, UDP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/s and HTTP proxy.
Knowledge of TCP, understanding network, protocol and application traffic flows
Ability to troubleshoot basic network issues including IPv6.
Proven ability to multi-task
Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
Manages time effectively
Creative thinking skills
Detail-oriented personality
Ability to maintain effective communication and working relationships with co-workers
● Security Clearance Level
Client Specific Public Trust
The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.
​● Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong Written and Verbal Communication, Strong desire for problem solving
● Preferred Skills:
Experience with APIs, scripting, and Splunk data flows. Preferred Perl, python and JavaScript.
Strong understanding of HTTP proxy including circuit gateways (generic proxies) Proficient with application layer protocols – HTTP, SSH, SSL, etc.
