Job Description:
As IT Operations Engineer for B2C you are integral part of the interconnected power business: from generating electricity to buying and selling it, storing it and supplying directly to customers to power homes, business and vehicles.

What’s the role?
In this role you will support business initiatives to efficiently bring new and innovative energy products to the B2C markets.
As an IT Operations Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
Collaboration with a wide range of IT Operations teams to build innovative automated IT solutions for the B2C Portfolio.
Debugging and resolving problems in IT Operations and production environment and prevent them from recurring.
Automating, facilitating, and managing virtualized workloads in internal and external clouds.
Improving infrastructure and processes for higher levels of availability and scalability.
Monitoring and administering service performance in the cloud.
Liaising between our customers and support teams.
Collaborating with Suppliers and Shell staff to understand requirements for AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Azure Cloud services that support Shell requirements and strategies.
Working closely with suppliers, partners, supplier delivery, Information & Risk Management, and others to ensure Reference architecture and roadmaps and plans can account for business requirements and can be applied effectively.
Leading the implementation of standards, reference architectures and practices to guide the use of Shell IT services in business IT projects.
What we need from you?
A university degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or other relevant discipline. Master’s Degree is preferred.
Extensive experience in IT with software engineering, software development, or system operations.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proven experience of operationally managing an IT landscape (preferably in large IT enterprise).
Managed Service Supplier Management experience.
Preferably has experience and/or is trained in DevOps.
Team player, working with the team, as well as the larger organization.
Required:
Knows their way around a Unix/Linux shell, can write shell scripts, and understands Linux internals.
AWS SySOps Administrator / Developer or Solutions Architect Associate certification.
Proficient with following technologies Amazon Web Services & or Microsoft Azure. Azure DevOps, Salesforce CRM.
Experience debugging complex problems.
Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale production systems.
Knows Python, Java, Go, Rust, or similar.
Understands networking and messaging, especially between services.
Has hands-on experience using source control (Git, GitHub, GitLab) and feature branching strategies.
Has experience with a variety of open-source databases (Postgres, Redis etc.).
ITIL v4 Foundation or higher certification.
Preferred:
Experience with containers, such as with Docker or Kubernetes.
Experience Elastic Stack Istio, HashiCorp vault, Prometheus, Grafana.
Configure and manage CI/CD pipelines (e.g. source control, build tool, CI server, artefact and dependency repository, etc.).
Proven track record of automating processes and auto Heal work.
Experience with monitoring and observability such as with Datadog, Sensu, New Relic, and Nagios.
Experience automating infrastructure, testing, and deployments using tools like Terraform, Helm and can explain the Infrastructure as Code paradigm.
Experience with configuration management.
