Description
The Lead Cloud Architect leads the planning, design, and engineering of enterprise-level infrastructure and platforms related to cloud computing. The Lead Cloud Architect works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
Responsibilities
The Lead Cloud Architect performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications for cloud computing environments. Develops specifications for new IT cloud computing products and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
Required Qualifications:
Degree in computer science/information systems, engineering or related field preferred; or a corresponding number of years' experience in technical operations or software engineering.
5 years of leading solution design engagements - requirement management, architectural design, and proposal documentation/presentation
5 years of combined experience designing and implementing Relational and Non-Relation databases
5 years delivering cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform
Desired Experience
5 yrs of delivering enterprise grade solutions such as robust e-commerce, online businesses in a 24X7 production environment
3 years working on Agile teams
3 years' experience with relevant scripting languages or programming frameworks desired - BASH, PowerShell, NodeJS, etc
3 years' experience leading the design of and implementing automated deployment solutions
Demonstrated experience leading troubleshooting of complex systems issues and effectively diagnosing problems
Track record learning new technologies, applying new skills, and sharing with peers and customers
Certification on Microsoft Azure cloud platform
What you will do in this position
Own design and engineering of new solutions through the entire lifecycle [Proof-of-Concept -> Pilot -> Minimal-Viable-Product -> Adoption -> Enhancement -> Retirement]
Lead design, engineering, and adoption efforts that deliver engineering patterns, processes, and technologies for cloud data-centric services
Lead technical teams - using systems and design thinking - through complex problem solving and convey potential solutions to both peers and customers
Support decision making for project design tasks
Lead work streams that define and execute projects and system implementations; work across multiple efforts simultaneously
Deliver written and verbal communication for project status updates and SCRUM standups
Provide Subject-Matter-Expert level consulting and advisory services to L3 and L4 data platform engineers
Present new technologies and analysis to internal governance bodies, determine best action plans for engineering design and implementation projects that meet Humana business and risk management requirements
