Responsibilities

The Network Engineer 2 will be responsible for providing operational support for Humana's enterprise network which spans across multiple lines of business from government, retail clinics and pharmacies, distribution centers to the traditional corporate campus and datacenters. The primary responsibility of the Network Engineer 2 will be to provide the highest quality network infrastructure environment support which includes management and troubleshooting of network solutions including routers, firewalls, switches, appliances, and cloud native network and security solutions.

The position will have the following responsibilities:


Maintain and operate network solutions (routers, firewalls, switches, wireless, appliances) across the enterprise landscape with a focus on reliability, throughput, scalability, and security which will help us scale with the needs of the business
Responsibility of network operations which supports over 500 applications, 80K users, 300 locations, multiple datacenters, multi-cloud environments
Monitor and tune network infrastructure to identify and eliminate issues and potential bottlenecks
Provide a level of escalation in response to incidents/requests regarding network performance and configuration, including off hours escalations
Maintain network documentation, run-books, diagrams, and network assets in the configuration management database
Develop and continually improve guidelines and procedures related to Network management including process and efficiency improvements


Required Qualifications


5 years of experience designing, deploying, maintaining, and improving wired, wireless, and complex High Availability Data Center Networks, Hybrid and Multi cloud Networks
Experience with SDN, SD-WAN, SD-LAN products and services - Aruba Silverpeak preferred
Advanced knowledge and experience with networking technologies (load balancing, VPN, ACL, NAT, DNS, Netflow)
Advanced knowledge of and experience with networking routing including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IP Multicast and MPLS
knowledge of structured cabling systems and network facilities
Ability lead and drive incident based calls


Preferred Qualifications:


Hands on experience with Aruba switches and Access Points (Silverpeak)
Hands on experience with cloud service providers Microsoft Azure, GCP and AWS
Familiarity with cloud-native security and network solutions and tools in Azure, AWS and/or Google
Certifications such as Cisco CCNP Data CenterRouting and Switching
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Solarwinds, Dynatrace, ThousandEyes, StealthWatch, BigPanda is a plus
Strong scripting experience: Ansible, Python, Perl, bash, windows scripts (VBS/PowerShell)
Experience with Terraform, Istio and Kubernetes and similar are bonuses
