Description
You have the unique opportunity to build a technology team from the ground-up for the very critical data cloud environment within Humana. In this role, you will participate with the Infrastructure Database Engineering team as they enable new data cloud capabilities by developing standards, policies, and best practices to help our application partners adopt these capabilities. In addition, you will develop Data Modeling, Data Migration, and Data Archiving competencies to help solve the technical challenges of migrating data solutions to the cloud platforms.
The Associate Director, Cloud Architecture leads the planning, design, and engineering of enterprise-level infrastructure and platforms related to cloud computing. The Associate Director, Cloud Architecture requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department(s).
Responsibilities
The Associate Director, Cloud Architecture performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications for cloud computing environments. Develops specifications for new IT cloud computing products and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies. Decisions are typically related to identifying and resolving complex technical and operational problems within department(s), and could lead multiple managers or highly specialized professional associates.
This Associate Director, Cloud Architecture role will help developestablish a ' Data Center of Excellent ' focused on developing patterns, standards, policies, and best practices for cloud databasedata capabilities such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Synapse, Databricks, Streamsets, Redis Cache, SQL Azure, ADF, etc. This role will participate in developing & maintaining cloud databasedata product roadmap, develop partnerships with targeted IT Leaders, and help establish databasedata qualities such as availability, scalability, recoverability, reliability, security, supportability. This role will work closely with the Infrastructure Cloud Database Engineering team responsible for technically enabling databasedata capabilities and will also work closely with the Infrastructure Cloud Database Operations team responsible for day-2-day support for all cloud databasedata capabilities. This role will oversee highly skilled engineers across the databasedata domains. While this role requires technical aptitudeexperience, the following skills are extremely critical to be successful:

Develop, maintain and govern all Center of Excellence artifacts:
Reference architecture documentation
Standards, policies, best practices documentation for items such as:
Provisioning

Playbooks for provisioning of databasedata capabilities
Runbooks (SOPs) for day-2-day support tasks
Knowledge transfer program and guidance to operational support teams
Provide oversight for technology proof of concepts
Manage multiple databasedata project workstreams (databases, ETL, Orchestration)
Stays abreast of industry data trends and proposing changes where needed
Provide consulting services to application:
NOSQL assistance for teams utilizing NOSQL
Data Modeling competency
Workflow Orchestration competency
ETL competency
Databasedata migration competency
Miscellaneous items:
Publish, maintain, and govern all databasedata documentation
Provide guidance to databasedata operational support teams
Provide oversight of databasedata POTs
Manage multiple databasedata project workstreams (databases, ETL, Orchestration)
Stays abreast of industry data trends and proposing changes where needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
6 or more years of technical experience
2 or more years of management experience
Broad understanding of Information Technology solutions including technologies, platforms, applications and capabilities
3 or more years of IT Management experience
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Broad technology experience across several of areas including cloud architecture, applications development, relational databases, NoSQL databases, analytics, security, storage, DevOps, containers, CI/CD, cloud migrations, IT transformation
Experience in the design and implementation of complex IT solutions
Experience with designing, implementing and maintaining highly available mission critical database environments for 24x7 availability
Experience with large enterprise level systems and managing data at scale
Experience with multiple public cloud providers
Can take the lead on a complex technical project, which may require the participation of other teams to deliver
Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability
Strong presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers
Excellent communication skills with an ability to right level conversations

Additional Information
Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field.
Work-At-Home Requirements
WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
