Description
Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer you will: work in a team environment to analyze, develop, integrate, document and implement responsive web applications and server based processes that meet specific Humana Government business needs. Specific responsibilities will include:
Lead coding, testing, implementation, documentation and support initiatives while often mentoring more junior members of the team.
Work directly with business owners to understand key system process and end-user needs in order to provide strategic solutions.
Perform analysis, design, and system integration tasks across complex systems and processes and help to form department strategy.
Make technical decisions on complex project issues with minimal oversight and direction.
Oversee thorough system testing to ensure high application/process quality in terms of usability, speed, security and accuracy.
Prepare all necessary supporting documentation as directed by Systems Manager or Director in accordance with Humana Government standards.
Stay abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages and mentor more junior developers.
Provide on call support as requested for various applications systems.
Required Qualifications
Our Department of Defense contract requires U.S. Citizenship
Successfully receive interim approval for government security clearance (eQIP - Electronic Questionnaire for Investigation Processing)
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related degree plus 5 years of professional development experience OR 7 years of professional development experience in lieu of education
Experience in the areas of software development and support
Expert knowledge with C#, SQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Expert with ASP.NET technologies including MVC and WebAPI
Expert knowledge with SQL and T-SQL
Professional experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio
Professional experience with Microsoft IIS and SQL Server
Professional experience with various web technologies and architecture
Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to lead in a collaborative team development setting
Preferred Qualifications
Professional experience with a responsive front-end framework such as Foundation or Bootstrap
Professional experience with JavaScript frameworks such as VueJS, Angular or React
Professional experience with Azure DevOps, GIT, NuGet, CI/CD processes and Agile methodologies
Experience with VS Code and dotnet core
Experience with Azure cloud platform and container technologies
Experience with classic ASP and WCF services
Familiarity with IBM DB2
