Job Description
In this role you will
Lead a multidiscipline team of engineers specializing in power systems, power conversion, automation, control and mechanical integration ensuring the overall solution meets customer, contract, quality and regulatory requirements.
Provide technical leadership, advice and assistance to the overall project team as appropriate including Commissioning, Service and 3rd parties.
Support the Project Manager as required and deputise for them as and when the need arises. Plan and progress all design engineering related activities including testing and commissioning for specific projects.
Monitor, control and manage engineering budgets, project documentation, risk management process, design reviews and quality & change control system in accordance with company guidelines.
Support improvement initiatives and ‘cost out’ plans in collaborations with teams from other business units and communicate solutions to the wider engineering community.
To succeed in this role you would require
A Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or related subject.
Be a Chartered Engineer or have an equivalent proven record of continuous professional development.
Experience in an engineering leadership environment.
Experience in application engineering in one or more fields, from power engineering, electrical drive systems, grid connected systems and automation.
The ability to understand detailed circuit diagrams, drawings, schematics.
Experience in specifying components.
Experience designing and integrating systems working on multi-disciplinary projects.
Experience in integrated control schemes with PCs, PLCs, RTUs, HMIs and Drives.
Experience in on-site commissioning.
Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.
Adaptability and creativity to find solutions to problems as they arise and assist in the implementation of improvements based on an extensive knowledge of electronics engineering.
Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication (written, verbal and telephonic), presentation and facilitation skills.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
