Job Description:
The Facility Engineer is the primary engineering resource for the surface facilities in the area of the field to which they are assigned, supporting increased production, minimal downtime, and Goal Zero HSE performance.
For the area of the field to which they are assigned, the facility engineer is primarily responsible for:
Surveillance:
Maintaining awareness of the state of the surface facilities through instrument data (e.g. PI trends), relationships with field operators, and direct observation in the field.
Maintaining awareness of the field business context, with emphasis on surface related costs and value drivers.
Troubleshooting
Understanding the root causes of equipment and system failures.
Actively using the MTO (Manage Threats and Opportunities) process to proactively and reactively address issues in the field.
Proposing and justifying solutions for failures, then executing or overseeing execution (typically by the small projects team) of those solutions.
Optimization
Direct collaboration with production engineering to optimize the full value chain from reservoir to sales point.
Understanding the limits of the system and where current performance is in relation to those limits.
Support the WRFM production system optimization process through leading facility reviews and supporting well reviews.
Proposing and justifying projects to safely increase value through increased production or reduced costs, then executing or overseeing execution (typically by the small projects team) of those projects.
Process Safety
Ensuring that the MOC process is rigorously followed for all changes in the field.
Ownership of critical documents (primarily P&IDs and Cause-and-Effect tables).
Supporting HSE investigations as required.
Supporting new (and revalidation of existing) Process Hazard Analyses (such as HAZOPs).
In all areas, application of Continuous Improvement / Lean practices is required to systematically reduce cost, increase production, and improve safety. This includes documenting, sharing, and adopting lessons learned and best practices within the asset, across the business and externally.

Requirements:
• Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
• 3 years of relevant industry experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or related engineering discipline
• Onshore oil production background and/or experience in field operations is preferred.
• Knowledge level understanding of Asset Integrity – Process Safety Management (AI-PSM) concepts and processes
• Awareness level understanding of =Industry Facilities design standards and codes, and performance standards, such as API codes
• Awareness level competency demonstrated for Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) techniques and methods, preferably including Causal Learning.
• Demonstrated abilities to work across multi-disciplinary teams that could include operations, leadership, finance, engineering, regulatory, and others.
• Awareness level competency in Production System Optimization (PSO) Alarm Management processes.
• Change Management skills, including knowledge level understanding of the Management of Change (MOC) process.
Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative.
